Town officials presented a proposed 2027 budget just above $12.29M, up $77.6K from the 2026 plan, with a smaller tax increase than 2026's ~5% rise.
The added spending was tied to union contract raises and a substantial sewer fee increase from a local utility serving part of Town Of Niagara.
After reassessments and ending a two-tier tax table, the recommended 2027 town tax rate was ~$3.3 per $1K, or $334 on $100K.
General fund spending was projected at $5.846M, while highways, water, sewer, fire protection, and lighting made up the balance across town operations.
Officials said more housing and business development are needed to grow revenue; a hearing was set for October 20, with approval due by November 20.
